Who:
What:

Schneider's IT landscape had grown into a fragmented estate with multiple, minimally connected instances of ERP systems, CRMs, and data hubs, leading to inefficiencies and data silos. This lack of integration prompted an internal assessment in 2010–11, highlighting the need for a unified global system.

How:

To address its fragmented IT landscape and adapt to a changing marketplace, Schneider Electric partnered with Torry Harris Business Solutions (THBS). In collaboration with Schneider’s Enterprise Architecture team, THBS implemented an integration backbone within a year, enabling API-driven connectivity across global IT systems and setting the stage for digital transformation.

Results:
  • Schneider achieved a smooth and impactful transformation by ensuring active business involvement and educating leadership on the strategic role of IT in driving value from the initiative.
  • The successful completion of the first two transformation phases demonstrated the effectiveness of combining vendor expertise in SOA with a collaborative and context-aware internal IT team, enabling rapid and meaningful outcomes.
  • Executive sponsorship played a critical role, with Schneider's IPO leadership team prioritizing the transformation as a strategic goal, leading to strong alignment between business objectives and IT execution.
  • The engagement’s success was underpinned by a proactive, partnership-driven problem-solving model, clear articulation of business requirements, and a parallel change management effort that ensured organizational readiness throughout the transformation.
